Training courses that build recognised competency
Working with the Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (ISEP), we have developed a specialist register with three grades, each underpinned by its own competency framework.
Our courses build the technical knowledge each grade requires. The Technical Associate course is the entry route into the first grade, and our other two courses support progression to the higher grades. The Registered Practitioner and Principal grades are expected to be launched in late 2026. We will expand the training courses portfolio in 2027 in line with the needs of the industry.
Technical Associate Certificate
ISEP-accredited course covering the fundamentals of carbon accounting including organisational, product and project-accounting methods.
Delivered in collaboration with MyCarbon, the only route to Technical Associate (TACA) registration.
Emissions Factors
Helping you understand the full lifecycle of emission factors (EFs) including model construction, uncertainty analysis and communicating decisions.
Delivered in collaboration with the University of Leeds and by the experts behind the DEFRA EFs.
Advanced Scope 3
Value-chain emissions in depth: across all categories with a focus on upstream emissions with real-world challenges and case studies.

Emissions Factors
Most carbon accountants can apply an emission factor. Far fewer can explain where it came from, defend why it was selected, or quantify the uncertainty around it.
Built for experienced practitioners who want to sharpen their technical judgement, this course follows the full lifecycle of an emission factor: from how the DEFRA spend-based model is actually constructed, through classification and practical application, to allocation, uncertainty, and how to communicate methodology decisions without undermining confidence in your results.

Advanced Scope 3
Supply chain emissions dominate most organisational footprints, and are the most commonly under-reported.
This course teaches “system complete” carbon accounting: how to build a Scope 3 footprint that avoids truncation error, apply environmentally extended input-output (EEIO/MRIO) models to organisational spend data, then refine it with physical and supplier data without double-counting, then report the result with boundaries, assumptions and uncertainty made explicit.
