Announcing registrations of interest for the CAA’s first Technical Associate Certificate in Carbon Accounting Training!
For the past year, the Carbon Accounting Alliance (CAA) has been working tirelessly to solve the industry’s biggest challenge - the lack of a credible professional training pathway for carbon accountants.
Our dedicated ‘Professionalisation & Training Working Group’ (chaired by Dr Toby Green of MyCarbon) has worked closely with our partners at the Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (ISEP) to develop the specialist professional Register for Carbon Accountants and Auditors’ (RCAA), for which we have so far launched the competencies framework as well as the course syllabus specification for achieving ‘Technical Associate’ status.
But we’ve been continually getting asked… when will training actually become available?
We’re delighted to reveal that the wait for this is very nearly over, as we announce the CAA’s intention to launch our first ever CAA training course in early 2026:
- The Technical Associate Certificate in Carbon Accounting -
We have partnered with MyCarbon to create this 5-day instructor-led training course built from the ground up based entirely on the ISEP-accredited syllabus to qualify individuals onto the first-level of the professional register. The course is currently pending approval by ISEP. It will be delivered by MyCarbon’s expert team, leveraging the CAA community platform’s in-built LMS capabilities as the hosting tool.
This isn’t just about theory, it’s about creating cohorts of carbon accountants who can robustly and confidently claim a proven ability to:
Apply core accounting principles and ethical responsibilities.
Master GHG frameworks, including ISO standards.
Handle data, materiality and uncertainty with rigor.
Communicate transparently to prevent greenwash.
Registrations of Interest are now open for our Q1 2026 Launch!
Please complete the form below to register interest in this course to be the first to hear when we officially launch enrolment with early-bird discounts. This will help us to gauge demand and ensure that we can scale our cohorts effectively.
We anticipate a significant amount of interest, so we encourage you to register early!
Finally, we’d like to once again express our gratitude to our partners at ISEP and all of the volunteers in the CAA Professionalisation and Training Working Group who have helped us reach this critical turning point for our profession.
This truly is the foundation for building the trust and credibility our industry needs to support the net zero transition most effectively.
